Old Fashioned Business
The Kilt & Thistle started as a hobby and a calling. We continue to operate in a very old fashioned and personal way.

Old Fashioned Family
Today the entire family is at the store every day. Sean is home schooled by his Mother, Cheryl.  I help out on History and Science when needed. We walk to and from the retail store every day.

Our Mission

We simply fell in love with the culture of my Forefathers. The ability to represent Scottish Merchandise I consider more of a calling than a job. I look forward to being in the shop every day. Our Goal is very simple, to see tartan on every Scot in the world.

Our Profile
The The Kilt & Thistle Scottish Shoppes, www.kilts.com, www.featherbonnets.com , www.weebairn.com , and the Retail Store in Salem , Oregon is owned by Cheryl and William Duncan  and our Son Sean. William's parents are MacPherson and a Duncan. I was born in the United States and consider myself an American of Scottish Heritage , not a Scottish-American. As my Father often said " your forefathers came here to be Americans, they never went back and never looked back" .  Cheryl was born in the United States and is of German Heritage. We opened the shop on Sean's first Birthday and has literally grown up in the shop.
